A member of the mint family, there are over one hundred varieties of the thyme herb. Many turn to this strong, aromatic herb to flavour different elements of their Christmas dinner including stuffing, like our parsley and thyme stuffing, because thyme pairs well with lots of other seasonings including sage and parsley. We harvest our evergreen thyme when it is young and tender to give you a warm and subtle flavour.
Ground thyme disperses easily into your dishes, making it perfect for soups, sauces, gravies and marinades. Use to season roast meats or poultry, meatloaf, lamb or beef stew, and casseroles. Try tossing thyme with roasted vegetables like carrots, zucchini or potatoes. It is essential in Jamaican jerk seasoning and in Creole-Cajun blackened seasoning, jambalaya and gumbo.
